Hi Everyone. The purpose of this blog is to document and share my experience in attempting to write my first fiction novel and get it published. As the title states, I’m currently 45 years old, and have never written anything longer than a blog post.
Since I was young, I’ve always wanted to tell stories either visually or through writing, and exercise my creativity through world building and hopefully providing any readers the opportunity to mentally escape into something fascinating, adventurous, fantastical, and immersive.
I’ve had this plan for at least a couple of years now, and so far a year or two have passed by since I’ve decided to write that “throwaway novel”. Looking back, I’ve spent quite a bit of time learning about storytelling in general, how to structure stories, and what makes them work (or not). I’ll detail some of these experiences in future blog posts.
The important thing is I’m starting from zero, so if you’re in the same boat as me, or if you’re considering a similar path, or maybe even further along, I’d love to hear from you so we can support each other on our journey.
